SYNCHRONIZATION LICENSING
A synchronization license is for video products (DVDs, YouTube videos, other web videos and slideshows). Currently, SK Publishing does not charge for live stream or video-on-demand records via YouTube or Facebook and general social media postings of rehearsal or concert footage. SK Publishing considers these types of videos as positive tools for all involved. Click here to let us know about your project.

MECHANICAL LICENSING
A mechanical license is for audio-only products (CDs, DVDs, MP3s and vinyl records). Click here to request a mechanical license.

Note: For Shawn Kirchner’s pieces published by Boosey & Hawkes, Oxford University Press, and Santa Barbara Music Publishing, it is necessary to go through normal channels for mechanical licensing (i.e. contacting the publisher directly or the Harry Fox Agency.)

As a music retailer, can I purchase Shawn Kirchner music on behalf of my customers?
SK Publishing does not currently partner with music retailers, but allows a direct interface.  Please advise customers to peruse and order all SK Publishing titles at shawnkirchner.com.

How do I request a commission?

Is Composer Shawn Kirchner available for residency opportunities, guest appearances, or keynote addresses?
Shawn enjoys “completing the circle” by meeting, coaching, and performing with conductors and choirs, by master classes and teaching sessions with composition students, and by sharing general thoughts and reflections. All such opportunities are contingent on the composer’s schedule. Please submit inquiries regarding residencies, appearances, and addresses to skpublishinginfo@gmail.com.

How do I seek permissions to use “Peace Pilgrim’s Prayer” in our worship service?
Shawn notes the source of the text for “Peace Pilgrim’s Prayer” was a spiritual teacher with a strong conviction that spiritual truth should never be sold. In keeping with that sentiment, Shawn allows this particular score to be freely used without charge. When possible, we request the notation “(c) copyright Shawn Kirchner Publishing, used by permission” be included in printed performance notes and acknowledgments.
